SDG&E Conducts Notifications Test Across Service Area to Bolster Emergency Preparedness

On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., we will test our emergency notification systems. This test is a key part of our commitment to safety and helps us ensure you receive timely and accurate information during emergency situations such as power outages and Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS).

As part of this service area-wide test you may receive test notifications by phone call from 858-868-4586, text message from number 73434 (also known as a short code) or by email from notices@sdge.com. All messages will be labeled as a test to avoid any confusion.

Regular testing is an essential component of our Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Plan and an industry best practice. It helps us ensure that we can provide you and local safety partners with timely and accurate information during potential future outages, PSPS and other emergencies.

If you experience an unplanned outage during the time of the test, you can find details and estimated restoration times at sdge.com/outages.

Manage your notifications preferences: To ensure you receive emergency communications, billing alerts, and energy-saving tips, please take a moment to update your notification preferences. Visit MyEnergyCenter.com to update your contact information for future emergency communications (if any) and to customize how and when you’d like to hear from us about your energy service.

Scam Awareness: If you receive a message that appears to be from SDG&E and/or that asks for any personal information, it is not us. Do not reply or click on any of the links.
